Brewing Guides

Great coffee starts with how you make it.

Drip Coffee

The everyday essential, done right.

  • Ratio: 2 tbsp coffee per 6 oz water (1g per 16g)
  • Grind: Medium — like coarse sand
  • Water temp: 195–205°F (just off the boil)
  • Brew time: 4–6 minutes

Tip: Use filtered water, a clean machine, and freshly ground beans. Don't let brewed coffee sit on a hot plate — transfer to a thermal carafe to keep it tasting fresh.

Pour Over

Slow down. Taste the difference.

  • Ratio: 1 tbsp coffee per 5 oz water (1g per 15g)
  • Grind: Medium-fine — finer than drip, coarser than espresso
  • Water temp: 200°F
  • Brew time: 3–4 minutes total

Tip: Start with a 30–45 second bloom — pour just enough water to saturate the grounds and let them off-gas. Then pour in slow, steady circles. The slower and more consistent your pour, the cleaner the cup.

AeroPress

The most forgiving brewer you'll ever own.

  • Ratio: 1 AeroPress scoop per 4 oz water (1g per 12g) — stronger concentrate, dilute to taste
  • Grind: Medium-fine to fine
  • Water temp: 175–205°F (lower temp = smoother, less bitter)
  • Brew time: 1–2 minutes

Tip: Add coffee, pour water, stir for 10 seconds, steep for 1 minute, then press slowly. Experiment with different temps, longer steeps, or the inverted method — it's all fair game.

Espresso

Bold, concentrated, and the base of everything.

  • Ratio: 1 oz in, 2 oz out — 18–20g dose recommended for accuracy
  • Grind: Fine — like powdered sugar, but not quite flour
  • Water temp: 195–205°F
  • Brew time: 25–30 seconds

Tip: Dial in your grind first — too fast means under-extracted and sour, too slow means over-extracted and bitter. A good shot pulls sweet, rich, and balanced with a golden crema on top. Works beautifully with any of our medium-dark roasts.
