The Grind & The Origin 

Ethiopia is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee, and the Yirgacheffe region continues to produce some of the world’s most celebrated coffees. This lot comes from the Idido Washing Station, where more than 1,200 smallholder farmers deliver carefully harvested coffee cherries from the surrounding highlands of Yirgacheffe.


Grown at elevations approaching 1,900 meters above sea level, these heirloom varieties develop slowly in the cool mountain climate, creating exceptional sweetness, complexity, and clarity in the cup. The result is a coffee that reflects both the rich heritage of Ethiopian coffee cultivation and the remarkable terroir of one of the world’s most respected coffee-growing regions.

 

The Profile: Bright, Sweet & Elegant

Unlike naturally processed Ethiopian coffees that showcase bold berry-forward flavors, this washed Yirgacheffe highlights the coffee’s inherent clarity, balance, and refined sweetness. After harvest, the fruit is carefully removed from the seed and the coffee is washed and dried on raised beds, producing a remarkably clean and vibrant cup.


The result is a coffee layered with notes of juicy plum, rich panela sugar, and bright citrus fruit. A sparkling acidity brings energy to every sip while a silky sweetness creates a smooth, refined finish. Whether brewed as a pour-over, drip coffee, or espresso, this coffee delivers a lively and elegant experience that showcases why Yirgacheffe remains one of the most respected coffee origins in the world.
